Tiffany Starks, MSW

Tiffany Starks, MSW, is a highly skilled social worker, holding a Master's degree and boasting an impressive 15 years of experience across a broad spectrum of settings. Her career has taken her through roles as a school social worker, positions in community mental health, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, the Department of Juvenile Justice Evaluation Center, and hospice care. Tiffany's rich background has equipped her with profound expertise in addressing depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, and trauma among children, adolescents, and adults. She adeptly applies a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solutions-Focused Therapy, to foster healing and growth.

Driven by a lifelong passion for aiding individuals in overcoming life's difficulties, Tiffany pursued her education in social work at South Carolina State University, earning her BSW in 2009, followed by an MSW with a focus on Individuals, Families, and Groups from The University of South Carolina in 2010. A South Carolina native, Tiffany is acutely aware of the mental health stigma, particularly within African American communities. She is committed to being a force for change, offering a non-judgmental, supportive presence that underscores the value of mental health care.

Tiffany prides herself on creating a positive, welcoming, and serene environment for her clients, guiding them through understanding their emotions, identifying triggers, and discovering constructive coping mechanisms. Outside her professional life, Tiffany cherishes time with her husband and their three children, ages 10, 5, and 3. She finds joy in reading, binge-watching TV series, traveling, and crafting handmade candles.
