Graduate Intern
Sydney Webb

Sydney Webb is a Graduate Counseling Intern who is passionate about helping individuals navigate meaningful change, personal growth, and self-discovery. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Virginia in 2021 and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Counseling at Eastern Mennonite University.

Sydney strives to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel safe exploring their experiences, emotions, challenges, relationships, and goals. She recognizes that growth can be both empowering and uncomfortable and believes therapy can provide a supportive space for clients to better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, and move toward greater balance and fulfillment. Her approach is collaborative and grounded in curiosity, empathy, cultural humility, and respect for each client’s unique strengths, identities, and lived experiences.

Sydney’s clinical experience began through volunteer work with an equine-assisted therapy program, where she spent approximately one year gaining experience in an experiential and supportive therapeutic setting. She has since expanded her clinical experience within private practice, working with both individuals and groups. These experiences have strengthened her appreciation for individualized, client-centered care and the importance of meeting each person where they are in their healing process.

Sydney works with adults ages 18 and older, including young adults, adults, and older adults who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, stress, and personal growth. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and individualized, incorporating principles and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She collaborates with clients to increase self-awareness, identify emotional and behavioral patterns, develop practical coping strategies, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful and sustainable change.

Sydney has completed additional professional training in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Psychological First Aid (PFA), recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect for mandated reporters, and improving cultural competency for behavioral health professionals. She has also completed continuing education in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics. While she has received training in TF-CBT principles and interventions, she is not currently certified in TF-CBT.

Outside of the therapy space, Sydney enjoys expressing her creativity through art, playing the guitar and piano, completing puzzles, baking, and spending time with her dog. She values creativity, connection, authenticity, and curiosity and brings these qualities into her therapeutic relationships, with the goal of helping clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and empowered throughout their wellness journey.
