Prashini specializes in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, and conditions related to obesity medicine. She integrates evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, to help clients better understand their thought patterns, emotional responses, behavioral triggers, and barriers to change. Through this collaborative process, she supports clients in developing practical coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and making meaningful progress toward their treatment goals.
Her academic foundation began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in South Africa. She later earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Leadership and Management, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Chamberlain University. This comprehensive educational background allows her to bring both clinical expertise and strong systems-level understanding to her work with clients.
Prashini’s commitment to healthcare began in the operating room, where she developed a strong foundation in patient care, clinical precision, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She went on to obtain certification as a scrub nurse and spent much of her early career practicing in South Africa and Saudi Arabia. Her professional experience also includes eight years in case management, where she supported patients with chronic illnesses, complex medical needs, high-risk conditions, and high resource utilization. This work deepened her understanding of the connection between physical health, mental health, and overall well-being.
Throughout her career, Prashini has served both children and adults in a variety of care settings, including virtual and in-home environments. She is passionate about creating a safe, respectful, and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Her approach emphasizes compassionate individualized care, helping each person build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and work toward improved mental and emotional wellness.
Outside of her clinical work, Prashini enjoys spending time with her daughters and her dog. She values an active and balanced lifestyle and enjoys hiking, biking, listening to music, practicing Pilates, and playing pickleball.
