Nassym Kavezade, MSW, is a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Social Work Supervisee with nearly a decade of experience providing counseling, advocacy, and case management services to children, adolescents, and families. Her professional background includes extensive work with individuals involved in foster care, family court systems, and refugee resettlement programs.

Nassym earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from New York University and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to empowering individuals and families through culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

Her clinical expertise encompasses a broad range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, attachment issues, grief and loss, body image and self-esteem challenges, supporting the LGBTQ+ community, life transitions, and school-related stress. Nassym works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client. She is fluent in both Spanish and Persian (Farsi), allowing her to serve diverse populations with cultural and linguistic sensitivity. Her therapeutic approach integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities, including attachment theory, trauma-informed care, person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, crisis debriefing, solution-focused therapy, and systems theory. This integrative and client-centered framework allows her to foster a supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, while navigate challenges, and build resilience.

With a strong passion for mental health advocacy, Nassym is especially dedicated to working with immigrants, refugees, survivors of trauma and abuse, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those navigating complex life transitions. Her work is grounded in a strengths-based perspective that honors each client’s lived experience and capacity for healing.

Outside of her clinical work, Nassym values time with loved ones and draws inspiration from cultural exploration and creative expression. She enjoys live jazz, boxing, salsa dancing, and discovering new places, whether kayaking along the Potomac River or visiting museums throughout Washington, D.C.
