Resident in Counseling
Isra Siddiqui, MA

I am a master’s-level clinician with a foundation in school-based counseling and a strong clinical focus on trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for children, adolescents, and families. My work centers on creating psychologically safe, affirming environments where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered—particularly during periods of stress, transition, or crisis. I utilize a collaborative, strengths-based framework and prioritize the development of authentic, trusting therapeutic relationships.

I have over 2 years of experience across school-based and community/outpatient settings, working primarily with preschool through high school–aged youth and their families. My clinical experience includes individual and group counseling, comprehensive intake and assessment, crisis intervention, and the implementation of trauma-informed and behavioral interventions. I approach treatment through a developmental lens, recognizing how growth, environment, identity, and lived experiences influence emotional and behavioral functioning over time.

My clinical interests include ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, attachment-related challenges, personality disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, school-related stress, self-esteem concerns, family conflict and family systems work, and crisis intervention. I am especially committed to working with children, families, and individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities, and I value culturally responsive and identity-affirming care, including spiritual exploration when relevant to the client’s goals.

I integrate a broad range of evidence-based and experiential modalities to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Attachment-Based interventions, Play and Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Exposure Therapy, Humanistic and Person-Centered frameworks, Positive Psychology, and Crisis Debriefing.

My work is informed by a strong research background with an emphasis on early childhood development, which guides my use of developmentally appropriate, evidence-based interventions. I have received specialized training in multicultural counseling, trauma-informed care, and crisis response, including Mental Health First Aid and Psychological First Aid. I am committed to continuous professional development and consistently integrate current research and best practices to deliver thoughtful, effective, and ethical care.

Outside of the clinical setting, I enjoy reading, exploring new coffee and food spots, and participating in a variety of fitness classes. I value meaningful time with my family and enjoy building connections with new people, which continues to inform my appreciation for diverse perspectives and lived experiences.
