Nicole’s decision to pursue a career in healthcare goes back to her childhood. She frequently found herself in the ER, and had a few extended stays in the hospital, but was always put at ease by the care and compassion the nurses provided. Their compassion for her during those times made her want to do the same for others.
Nicole became a registered nurse and has 15 years of clinical experience. She spent her early years working in emergency rooms caring for adult and pediatric patients across the country. After several years of working in the ER, she decided to return to school. She wanted the ability to offer more to her patients than she could as a RN. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and became a board-certified family nurse practitioner in 2018. She also earned a post-graduate certificate in Nutrition and Healthy Living from Cornell University in 2019.
Nicole has worked in several specialized areas as a nurse practitioner, including mental health, aesthetics, urgent care, and women’s health. Since 2018 she has been working with her patients to improve their mental health in a variety of settings, including women’s health, urgent care and via telemedicine. She specializes in the treatment and medication management of a variety of mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder (type 2), and more.
During her time in healthcare, Nicole has found recurrent issues: poor approaches to wellness, excessive medication use, chronic dehydration, and frequent side effects. Due to these widespread concerns she chose to continue her education. This time she learned more about the functional side of medicine and the role that vitamins, amino acids, peptides, hydration, nutrition, and exercise can play in symptom relief. Nicole believes in taking an integrative approach to treatment and incorporates medications, supplements, and lifestyle changes in order to approach each person as a whole.
Nicole believes it is important to look after both your physical and mental health. She has a passion for mental health and has also found a special interest in women’s health and overall wellbeing.
